Question: When you tour Japan by bike and you want to visit a temple or a castle,
what do you do with your luggages (tent, sleeping bag, etc) Do you leave
them attached to the bike or do you bring them while you visit?
Some guy told me that he left his stuff and nothing happenned. Is it true?
Answer: I always leave my luggages attached to my bike.
I just bring some most important things like money, credit card, camera,
speed meter, etc.. Nothing happens to my luggages.
I cannot guarantee they are not stolen, but I'm sure that for most Japanese
the luggages attached to bike are not worth for stealing, just heavy.f(^_^;
I recommend you to bring some expensive, small and light things, that are
easy to steel and bring in pockets
Don't forget to lock your bike with pole. Your bike itself is the one that
a thief really wants to steal.
