Internet Cafe in Japan is very close to and very different from the one
in your country.
Before Internet Cafe came out, there existed "Comic Cafe" in
Japan. They had thousands of comics "manga" and we enjoyed them.
As internet were becoming popular, the Comic Cafe became to have PC for
internet. So the Internet Cafes that have only PC are very few in Japan.
Most of Internet Cafe have thousands of comics "manga" and free
drinks (tea, coffee, coke, orange juice, etc.) , and many of them open
24 hours. If you want to not only use PC but also enjoy Japanese comics
or stay in all the night economically, go to Internet Cafe!
Typical System (system sample)

The charge system is different depend on Cafe. But they are not so far
different.

It is very rare you can see menu in English like this.
Can you change the Screen and Keyboard language?
Screen language
Sorry, you cannot change screen language (menu in each application, like
Internet Explorer, CD-R burner, Scaner, etc.) in English or other language.
Because it depends on the OS, and there is no "Windows XP Professional
Multi User Interface" in Internet Cafe in Japan (see below). But you
can see the contents in web site in English or other, and input in English
(Western alphabet). If you use only Internet Explorer, there is no problem
I think. Because it is very easy to treat, so you can use it inspite of
the menu is in Japanese.

Keyboard language
If you want to input in English (Western alphabet), change the language
mode from Japanese to English using "Language Bar".

Equipments
The equipments are very different depending on Cafe. In the case they are
not equiped in each PC, try to ask the person in the cafe. Sometimes they
have external ones.

| Caution | As I wrote above, the applications' menu of DVD or burner, scaner are in Japanese. (CD burner is exception. See below) So it might be hard for you. And the staff in Internet Cafe might not be good at PC, because they are part time workers. But I'm sure some staff, I wonder if they are always in Cafe, are good at PC. | ||
How to burn CD with Windows XP in Japanese (printable page is here(.swf).
In the case of Windows XP, CD burner is included in it. It does not depend
on PC language. So it is not hard for you in spite of the menu is in Japanese,
if you know the way. I will show you how to below.
Before follow below, put memory card and CD in PC.
