Hotel
There are a lot of hotels in Japan. But there are no ranking system as
"one star hotel", "two stars hotel" etc(sorry, I don't
know how to say the system in English).
Western Style Hotel (low price: "Business Hotel")
We call low price hotel(two stars hotel, I think.) "Business Hotel"
in Japan, because many business man use it in a business trip.In many case, it is near a railroad station.
It has bed, bath, shower, toilet in each room. And many Business Hotel have laundromat (But maybe you cannot use laundromat unless you stay the hotel in the night).
Price is about from 5000yen to 9000yen(depend on region) to stay. Breakfast(Japanese foods or bread and coffee) is about 800yen.
Japanese Style Hotel: "Ryokan"
If you want to enjoy Japanese food, it is good to stay in Japanese style
Hotel: "Ryokan".You can enjoy dinner with special agricultural products and sea foods in
the region in low price comparing with restaurant.
Most of them have big shared bath. It may refresh you. And it depends on
hotel that it has bath, shower, toilet in each room.

Price is about from 6000yen to over 10000yen(depend on region and grade
of hotel) with dinner and breakfast.
Youth Hostel
There are over 300 youth hostels in Japan(on 25th Oct. 2004).
Most of them you can stay without menbership of youth hostels, but you need to pay extra about 1000yen to stay.
Price is about from 3000yen to stay. Dinner is about 1000yen and breakfast is about 500yen.

Tourist Home: "Minshuku"
There are many tourist home:"Minshuku". It is a small Japanese style Hotel: "Ryokan". You can enjoy dinner with special agricultural products and sea foods
in the region in low price (but it is not deluxe like in "Ryokan").Most of them don't have bath, shower, toilet in each room. They are shared in a tourist home.
Price is about from 4000yen to 9000yen(depend on region and grade of tourist home) with dinner and breakfast.

Internet Cafe and Healthy Land: "Kenko Rando"
They are not accommodations, but many of them opens 24 hours and have reclining
seats. So you want to stay in all the night, economically, use them.
